Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority is committed to developing scholars, philanthropists, leaders and sisters among our collegiate and alumnae members. We try to live up to the ideals that were put in place by our founders on November 4th, 1899 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Those ideals are to be active, self-reliant, and trustworthy women, which is also the Alpha Sigma Tau motto. The Tau Honor Principle is an agreement that is made effective upon accepting membership into the Sorority and continues throughout a member’s lifetime and presumes a member is honorable unless proven otherwise.
